Registered Nurse
Job Description
Under a previous brand, our Blue Sky Home Care team has been assisting with the care of Greater Victoria and the surrounding areas for over 10 years providing a quality, catered home-care experience that exceeds our competition. While Blue Sky Home Care continues to provide quality assistance and support with the compassionate community care services that we currently offer, we have partnered with many preferred and established health care providers and healthcare companies to elevate our care model further as industry leaders in the Health Care Community. We bring the collaborative healthcare approach home to join patients, care workers, physicians and pharmacists together to mainstream medical tasks, reduce stress and create more time to enjoy life.
Blue Sky Home Care is looking to hire two part-time RNs to join our amazing team! This position would involve single patient care for our clients in the community as well as our clients in group home settings. The position would be 20 hours per a week in group homes and approximately 10 hours per a week with our home care clients.
Qualifications
- Have three (3) or more years of nursing experience, ideally working in home care.
- Quickly establish and maintain relationships with professionals from multiple agencies involved in the care of the clients.
- Be professional, confident and proactive while working autonomously.
- Be self-driven and accountable.
- Believe that empathy and compassion are fundamental pillars of establishing trusting relationships with clients.
- Embrace rapidly changing situations and be able to react to emergencies effectively.
- Be a natural leader and ambassador for our program and our clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current BCCNM registration and be in good standing with the college.
- Be familiar with universal precautions and current MOH guidelines.
- Exceptional assessment, document and communications skills.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as a part of an established rotation.
Licensed Practical Nurse - Medication Delivery
Job Description
Blue Sky Home Care and Forbes Pharmacy have joined teams to service clients in the comfort of their own homes. This is a day-shifts only position 7 days a week doing medication administration to a variety of clientele. Must have current, valid drivers license and a company vehicle is provided.

Licensed Practical Nurse
Job Description
Our clients live independently in the community and require nursing interventions on a daily to weekly basis. Under the direction of the Registered Nurses and Pharmacists, the community nursing program provides medication management, client-specific procedures and rapid assessments in the clients own home. The majority of our clients struggle to access interventions due to health or mental health barriers and/or physical limitations. It is the role of the Nursing team member to provide the identified interventions per the policies and procedures with safety, kindness, empathy and advocacy as the guiding principles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Health Care Aide/Caregiver
Job Description
Our caregivers is expected to assist in all aspects of daily living which includes and is not limited to:
- provide supervision and care
- provide personal care such as personal hygiene and dressing
- facilitate in transferring the client
- help with exercise and chores
- aid with administering medications
- accompany to medical appointments
- assess the overall well-being of the client
- cook nutritious meals for the individual
- and more, depending on the needs of the client
We require our caregivers to provide supervision and care to an elderly individual within their home for a period of 2 hours or more. While this position expects you to work individually, it also requires you to work as a team with your coworker in order to ensure that you are both up to date on the client’s condition.

- Valid Criminal record check (Vulnerable Sector)

- Valid WHMIS Certification (must be willing to obtain if you do not have)
- TB Screening (must be willing to obtain if you do not have one)
- Demonstrates empathy, patience, and tact
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Education: RCA / HCA Certification or equivalent work experience or schooling
- Work Experience: Minimum 1-year fieldwork
- Experience and comfortable with personal care
- Preference will be given to a candidate that is available to work for a period of 3-5 days consecutively at a time
